LAMED is an innovative, two year leadership development program for 11th and 12th grade students who wish to serve their communities, earn teaching certification, and enhance the religious school experience of future generations.
An Experiential Jewish Educator creates fun and engaging activities and programs that build positive Jewish identities, increase knowledge, develop skills, and inspire students to do Tikun Olam and lead an ethical life.
The program meets at Congregation Kol Ami in Elkins Park and Old York Road Temple-Beth Am in Abington.
LAMED students meet twice a week during the academic year:
On Sundays, students develop new programs, assist in religious school classrooms, and lead incredible experiential programs.
On Tuesdays, students learn from guest educators, exploring a wide-range of relevant and intriguing Jewish topics.
At the conclusion of the program, students earn Certification in Experiential Jewish Education.
