A very special early learning center school has existed in our building at 8201 High School Road for many decades. When we moved here in 2006, we incorporated this warm and innovative early educational program into our congregation with the goal of providing a nurturing experience for our members and the greater community.
In 2007, we formed a partnership with Federation Early Learning Services (FELS) – a leader in early childhood education – to ensure that this important program would grow and thrive.
At Kol Ami Early Learning Center, children ages 15 months to five are nurtured in a playful, relaxed atmosphere that fosters imagination, curiosity, creativity and independence through experience.
Children enjoy a wide range of programs, including Fun & Fitness, Apple Press, Chick Hatching, Music, Jewish Programming and Yoga. They play outside on the playground and on our beautiful meadow, enjoy special events and field trips, and even use computers.
All of the children look forward to saying boker tov or good morning to Rabbi Holin when they arrive, and celebrating Shabbat monthly with Cantorial Soloist Rebecca Schwartz. The children and their families are invited to “Fun For Kids” Shabbat services where they are engaged in song by Kol Ami’s Student Choir. Over time, the children develop a real love of, and commitment to, Judaism by experiencing it as a meaningful part of their lives.
Families whose oldest child is a student in Kol Ami’s Early Learning Center, enjoy free membership at Congregation Kol Ami, which allows full access to all Kol Ami activities and High Holy Day tickets. Many children continue on into the Kol Ami Religious School, an easy transition since their kindergarten classroom is right down the hall in the same building they have grown to know and love.
